This is probably a stupid question, but can a Wordpress theme potentially ruin a site's traffic if there are errors in it?
It can't ruin it, but a theme could theoretically reduce the SE impact of your site with improper or poorly-managed attributes (eg. title, h1 placement and saturation and other "structural SEO" concerns that could be set by a theme.) However, stuff like that is easy to spot and easy to correct -- it's not as if a theme could drop your site's ranking upon installation. So not such a huge concern -- I routinely look over stuff like that when dealing with a new theme, but almost never encounter any problem spots, and generally have no issue fixing the few that I do find. Theme will not ruin your website traffic even with the help of different theme you can make attractive blog page. You can also add webmaster verification tool to your Blog and check the traffic to your blog.
Actually after the new Panda update, it's rumored that a template can hurt your seo, if the content is poorly placed. See here - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/beat-google-panda - 1. Heavy Template Footprint Basically it may be bad if you don't have enough meaningful content above the fold.
If the theme template has many html errors in it, it could prevent the search engines from properly crawling and indexing your site.
That is what I was wondering. I think the theme I have going on now is hurting my traffic. I just wasn't sure if that was possible or not. Thanks everyone.
Also take a look at the plugins you have installed, some of them can have a negative impact on SEO as well.
