Disadvantage of 301redirect

Most all of SEOers think that 301 must be the best solution to redirect, however, is there some disadvantage about this way? Let’s discuss and hope your answer.

 

as per my knowledge i think there are no disadvantages on 301 redirection.., if there are i'd luv to hear!

 

There are two redirects, 301 and 302. 301 is for permanent moves and 302 is for temporary moves. There is absolutely nothing more to it.

 

301 Redirect is the ethical way of SEO, there is no harm of it.

 

The only disadvantage is the full link juice from original page to redirected page wont pass.

 

It is only the issue of redirection and both are considered as two different entities, I prepare to use www before but not now because its easier to type your domain name directly into your browser without www.

The major disadvantage of the 301 redirects is that if you do the 301 redirection chains then it is very much harmful to your site. Means if you redirect your site to another, then to another, then to another and then to another then it is very much harmful to your site according to Google.

 

I can't think of a reason why anyone would need more than two hops...

 

The disadvantage it is irreversible. When you set a permanent redirect on your pages, you can not take it back if you try to do what you are doing is ruining everything.

 

I haven't seen any harm doing a 301 redirect infact we are helping the Search Engines out by telling them not to crawl the landing page further but rather switch to another page for the crawling. Perfectly legal.
