What is a normal Click Thru Rate?

What is a normal click thru rate for an affiliate based website? Is 5% normal or is it too low? What CTR are you getting? Any tips on how to increase CTR? I placed my affiliate links at the end of every post.

 

Don't know but normally a normal click through rate is determined by how many clicks have actually been converted into sales (if your site is a shopping site or such)

 

Those are usually called "conversions" how much traffic is converted to sales. CTR is usually just how many click through.

It is hard to get real accurate CTR numbers, many are pure fake and hype. Usually people in the affiliate industry with access to real numbers and accounts are happy with an average 3%. But I am sure here on DP their will be lines of people who claim more and more.

 

Good question and it depends, I saw legit CTR of 3% and even 70%. Depends on several factors, for example in PPC, how effective and targeted the campaign is...

 

There's no such thing as a "normal CTR" for a site. Depends on a hoopla of factors -- like the quality of your site, structure of your site, the quality of the traffic, ad placements and the quality of the ads only to name a few. Narrow down the scope, your question was like asking "if I open an offline store how many people will cross my doorstep in one day?"

it all depends on how your advertiser is looking at your traffic. if they are expecting every one to click, then the CTR should be 60% or even higher, if they are not expecting too many, it should be 1% or lower its all about how they expect you, they look at your site and content and they will know what a normal CTR should be in your case.

 

5% doesn't sound to bad, depending how well your site converts

 

5% would be a rather huge number. The general rule in direct marketing is a 1% response rate with 1%-5% of those who respond actually making a purchase. Although those number look extremely low, if you base your revenue on sheer volume of targets you could actually do pretty well.
