I would go for Seagate. I bought a 250GB hard drive in 2007 and hadn't had any problems till now.

Go with Seagate. Don't get a solid state drive, just stick with SATA. Solid state drives are prone to fail on you sooner or later, a year or so, according to studies.

Samsung HDDs are the most reliable, especially their 2.5" 5400rpm models.

My company has a few thousand hard drives on line (the database is a bit large and, yes, I'm trying for the understatement of the millennium award), and the only drives we'll use are Seagate. We've been through all the major manufacturers, and Seagate has the best actual MTBF. It also is the easiest company to deal with when there's a problem. Toshiba and Samsung aren't bad, but not as good as Seagate. WD? Won't let one into the parking lot, let alone the building.

For hundreds gb, it would be better to put on your choice to Seagate.
For thousands gb, it would be better to put on your choice to Western Digital

You can take Seagate. I think it is more reliable.
