Live trys to add more features to beat it, whereas everyone uses Google because of it's simplicity. They've got their game wrong.

If they changed it to Live like as in "Live your Life" instead of Live as in "The website is Live" then they might have a chance. Live.com is a much better domain name than Google in my opinion.

I don't think so. Google is way to powerfull. And they have all kind of nice products besides google search. In my mind they also have a very positive image. Don't know where that came from.

i also think that, coz google updates its database (crawls) faster than all search engines so its not possible to beat google.

Do you think Google won the battle since Live Search has not existed for two years? Or does the DP braintrust here wish to carry on this 4-year old thread debating it?

Me too think that Microsoft's live search is nowhere near to google. It'll not be overtook by live search for many coming years. Google is awesome and nobody can beat it.

you'd think live would have a good shot at beating google. microsoft should have just made it the only search engine in explorer and on it's operating system. it can't though, lawyers keep tying its hands behind its back to prevent a monopoly.

Haha this made me laugh out loud. I actually thought about the I.E thing but in a different concept. Let's put it this way, Microsoft can't even get I.E to match other browsers, which isn't the hardest of work when you have a team that big, what makes you think Live is going to beat something as powerful as Google?

Never say never in this world. All it takes is some revolutionary algo that changes our online world to web 3.0 and they will catch up. They just have to either get lucky or hire better people than Google.
