    I have bought a website template last week and I have added all my products on this site. I want to know what I should do before I can submit it to search engine and optimize it. Thank all the answers a million in advance.

    make sure you have proper titles, keywords etc. to product pages and also check all the links are properly work; there shouldn't be any dead links.

    I donot know if you are taking the risk in diving into an ecommerce business without knowing what it is. You should do these things not necessarily in the order.

    1. Your USP - Unique Selling point - Why should people buy from you instead of amazon.com or ebay?
    2. Your niche competition - What are you selling? Who is your local competition?
    3. Your marketing segment - Who will buy your product? Age, geo etc.,
    4. How are you gonna reach your marketing segment? SEO, online marketing, tv ads or what is your mode of connect?
    5. Pricing strategy - Is your pricing right?
    6. Inventory management - How are shipping things?
    7. Overall, do you have enough man power and budget to do this?

    Think along this lines, fill in the blanks and analyse yourself.

    hi dressmydream,

    i am not aware of what kind of cms you are using for your website but before you submit your website in the search engines you should check
    that the on-page seo factors are taken care of correctly.

    1. the title of the webpage should have the keyword.
    2. you should have a description of the page in the head section

            <meta name="description" content="Your descriptive sentence or two goes here.">

    HTML:
    3. you should also have few keywords mentioned in the head section of the website (this is not looked by google but other small search engines do)

             <meta name="keywords" content="keyword1, keyword2">

    HTML:
    keep in mind not to use more than 5 keywords in this section
    4. you should also have your main keyword in <h1></h1> tags in the page
    5. the product that you have in the website should have a good description of it with the keywords in it. :)
    6. if you have a picture of the product then try to use the alt="" tag in the image.
    7. if you can then have another <h3></h3> tag in the webpage with the keyword in it.

    after all these on page tasks are done try to create an xml sitemap of your website. :)

    hop this will help you to get you starting with the 1st steps of seo. :) keep in mind that SEO is an ongoing process which takes time to achieve.

    wish you all the best with your website.

    kindest,

    do html/xml validations of your site...
    check is your site SEO friendly or not.
    Try to avoid broken links to your site...
    Put different Meta Tags to each and every Page..
