    Well forum backlink now is not of great importance as most of the webmasters are using the same technique for getting links as result now google is not giving much important to this activity.

    The only time a forum backlink is any good is if it is not a "no follow" link. Then you must ask will the forum archive the post that the link is in. If they do, the link goes away. Then is it in a downline of a "do not index" page. Again, if it is the link does not count.

    But then you must ask yourself, I have 1,902 Posts that have a signature in them. That should equal 1,902 back links -- correct? But when you look at Google's Webmaster Tools link reporting, I have only 170 links after five years.

    Hummmmm... Where did the back links go?

    I tend to look at forum posting as more of getting traffic by way of building my reputation and a sort of following by participating in forums. Most forums these days are "no follow" anyway, but that doesn't mean you won't be getting anything from them. You still get ranking from them, but not immediately. What is more important for me is the recognition, and eventually the traffic that it gives my website.

    Of course forum posting gives you back link if your signature is activate. It is one of the good link building technique. Just use do follow and well known forum for getting more benefit.
