Will Twitter beat Facebook?

depending on what side. if the user likes the effectiveness and efficiency, then the number of twitter users would beat facebook.

 

Its quite a strange comparison to make. Facebook is more of a site where people keep in touch with other people. Its like more of a blog kind of one. Twitter is like sending a bulk sms to all your friends.

 

Actually the Q should be "Will Facebook beat Twitter?" But again there is nothing to beat each other. Twitter and facebook are not the same. Twitter is a micro-blogging client and facebook is a social network.

 

i think Twitter needs a pretty presentation to beat Facebook, Facebook has its charm.Facebook is famous more than Twitter, which is why your mom/dad, teenage neighbors, and friends all use Facebook, and probably don't use Twitter.

Facebook and Twitter have differnet concepts and should not be compared.
But I don't think twitter can beat facebook !

By it differs in different countries. For example in my country (Iran) both sites are blocked by government. (Because most people are against the policies of the government and they use such websites to beat the iranian medias and .... ) but even in Iran, facebook is so popular and I can say almost all young people in Iran have Facebook accounts.

 

I don't believe that twitter will beat facebook. Today no other social media offers so many features as facebook. I think rather the opposite will happen – the distance between facebook and twitter will continue to grow. Twitter is an important social media website, but it's much, much less versatile than facebook.

 

Twitter and Facebook are different kinds of systems. It's like asking is you would want to search on twitter or google.

Facebook provide the ability for so much more in depth relationships than twitter ever could.

But twitter excels in quick communication to masses of people.
With twitter, a user can have thousands of friends and followers and not be considered a spammer.

Either one will best the other depending upon your needs.

 

Facebook of course, Twitter really can't compare with it.

Facebook is easier to use then Twitter is. There are more people trying to use Facebook.

 

I think the thread is valid as they are both the leading social networking sources out there. But I think Twitter is steadily growing and growing and will eventually do the same thing to facebook as facebook did to myspace.
