Is it a good idea to "no follow" internal links if there are to many links on a single page for SEO purposes? Like, let's say I have a list of products or a list of trusted sites. What should I do if I have over 250 links on any given page?
If these links are internal, it is better not to use. Try it just reduce the number of references to 100.
So lets say I have a products page showing all the different computer models and there are over 500 in that catagory. How would I go about doing that. Could you give me an example of a site?
Ofcourse it better to get dofollow link. Try to reduce it if you can and look for the dofollow link. Unless those no follow link able to bring traffic to you and make show your product page look quality, then no harm to leave it there. It do not help in SEO , but the traffic bring in and the conversion rate may help you in SEO as well. Â
Perhaps you’re not looking for your privacy policy page to be followed by the search engines, so you add a nofollow attribute to it. That’s all well and good, but don’t fool yourself into thinking that this will somehow control your PageRank flow and get you better rankings. It won’t.
To: xenon121 I'm not trying to get better page rank. I just heard that to many on page links can hurt your site so I'm trying to figure out what to do. I could organize my site more and make more pages or I could "no follow" links, maybe... Got any more idea's?
I wouldn't recommend even 100 internal links per page. Page rank sculpting will reduce the value of each internal link, thus it won't be beneficial for your overall products. Instead, I would suggest narrow down your 250 products to top 10-20 products which gets high sales number and put it on all your internal pages with appropriate title like "Top Product", etc. This will not only increase the ranking of your highly targeted products while increasing the value of each interlink.Â
