We can do D.S. for any page. Doesn't matter it is home page or internal pages.
Few directory allow only 1 submission of your link doesn't matter it is home or internal.
Example (http://digitalpoint.com +http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2246947) will count as one link.

Few allow only home page no internal link
Cause they don't allow only 1 submission from a single domain.

But few directory accepts home page and internal link as well.

DS is very easy and will take few minutes of your. you can do DS for home page as well as internal pages except some. you just have to put some required information such as site URL, title, description. in some directories you can make submission just with the help of URL. its easy.

Directory submission isn't really worth it anymore thanks to Google Panda. Unless Google trusts the directory you're sending your articles to, it's a waste of time.

Good grief people just answer the question and stop with the post count padding.

Any good directory should have a posted terms of service. That's where they should state whether or not they only accept the homepage or if they also accept deep links (internal pages). Some directories only allow deep link submissions for premium/paid listings.

You can submit any of your pages to a directory. You should do manual submissions where you vary the title and descriptions. In addition, you should try to find good directories in your niche or directories where the category where you'll be listed is indexed in google.

Not true. Here's an experiment I did using only web directories for link building. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2172178

It is very easy to directory submission, just goto a free web directory and put name, email, url, title etc and click on submit. Then they will send you an email to your mailbox for confirm that your mail is currect.

Do you people even bother to read past the heading? Or notice the fact that a bunch of people have already said the same lame thing you are? Oh, for a decent moderator around here.

When creating directory listings, there are two things to take into
    consideration:

    1. The text directly surrounding your link matters. For this reason, you should
try to use keywords that are relevant to your site in the description that will
    be directly below the link.

    2. Using a boilerplate site description will save you time with the
submissions, but may ultimately work against you. Since search engines
will see this piece of boilerplate (along with the link) as duplicate content,
they may only count one inbound link, rather than each of the separate
    inbound links.

I think most of the Directories allow home pages, but some directories allow articles pages.

Well it depends on the directories submission guide lines. Some directories only allow submissions for the home page whereas some do allow submission for internal pages as well .You might want to check it out before submitting.
