just wondering, lcn was doing PPC from quite long time, now suddenly they rank on 1st position on many domain related and hosting related keywords for example "domain names" check out the page (off page and off page) http://www.lcn.com/domain_names what so special here that they rank it suddenly on number 1. I have some doubt! Any one agree with me? (Search Web hosting on google.co.uk) and see the 6 website ranks on first page do PPC) DOUBT!! DOUBT!!!
I was wondering that as well. But at the same time I'm thinking what is the benefit to Google except less PPC clicks and less money for them? In addition, could this me more related to the fact that they also do network ads via PPC so they get a lot of backlinks via those network ads which in turn increases their ranking?
I rather doubt AdWords will help your rankings... unless you're Amazon or Ebay maybe. we used to spend hundreds of thousands on AW and it sure didnt do jack for SERPs. in this particular case the site has 6400 YSE backlinks and 112 Google backlinks, most of them with matching anchor text. so it's not really that surprising they rank on 4th place (for me). just below them for me there's for example http://www.123-reg.co.uk/domain-names/ which has roughly the same number of backlinks.
Google adwords don't help your site rank in organic serp. You only rank on the firts page positions if you have a higher bid in adword campaigns. It never will affect your serp.
Google has historically said that the PPC team and organic search results team are separated and have no contact, so advertising in PPC does not influence your organic rankings. That being said some people still do not believe it.
I really doubt it. As mentioned, Google will miss out on money. If they rank a paying customer first, then what's the point of that customer to continue paying, if they're already ranked first?
to be on 1st page they continuously have to to PPC! I said i have doubts, i gave an example.. Search Web hosting and you will see 6 results who do PPC..(for "Domain names" keyword as well) If its coincidence then its very strange. they might no do this for all keywords, but they certainly do for some.
There can be only one thing that they must be doing SEO for those keywords, otherwise PPC is far away from rankings it doesn't effect organic results.
Scrapers often take PPC links and build spam/junk sites with them. while they may not pass much juice, in aggregate they could be a major force. Also if a company can effectively do PPC they will get a better ROI than they're competitors, reinvesting that improved ROI into SEO and Organic ranking could be of tremendous value.
