    Hello All!

Just wondering if anyone has had any success marketing on craigslist? If so, what tools and/or services work well?

    Thanks

I’ve had very little success with Craigslist. You’re not able to post links. It’s also very hard to post ads in several different markets without getting flagged.

Tim beat me to it. :)

Yeah, CL is tough to advertise on because its abused quite a bit from the Black Hat crowd (aka porn). It's tough to make any head way, but if you do, be prepared to make some good money off of it. I read that there was software guy who made well over $600 per day within a month after figuring out a way to help people better search the site. Of course, CL shut him down fast and his income dropped.

So in short, if you manage to hit a sweet spot, ride it out for all you've got.

Craigslist isn't for marketing. Spamming craigslist will get your ads removed and possibly your IP banned. You may get a short-lived spike in traffic but it's not going to last. In the end, the time and effort spent aren't worth it.

Craigslist marketing should be done with critical eye and openness, I am not one to jump on the bandwagon unless its a very unique business (like maybe selling antiques so on) its not really for a large portion of businesses.

How about auto posters? Are there any good ones out there that will alternate IP, email accounts, etc. Or does this generally not work?

I have ran as many as 15 ads at one time through my account on Craig's List. This was for a house I was selling. All you need to do is have a Unique Headline and Unique Ad for each posting.
I created a free website to sell the house, but you could have a website that YOU own that you are linking to No 3rd party sites. Then just create your ads in notepad and have them ready to copy and paste.
I never had any of my ads rejected or flagged. I rotated them about every 12 days by deleting all of them first and then reposting a new ad. I'm sure you could do this with more than 15 ads. You could even have some redirect urls for the ads so even that is different in some of them. Just don't repeat the same ad after you delete it for at least 30 days.

    Good Luck

Craigslist in general makes your company look cheap, fake, like a scam, and unprofessional. There are other better alternatives to marketing. Pm me if you would like to talk more about them :)

I didn't own a Real Estate company-I was an individual and owned the home the agents couldn't sell for a whole year. I have sold many high dollar items on CL-depends on how you go about it and what category you put it in. CL is a scammie place-I don't buy much from there without much due diligence. Some people just want to try their luck but with IM you need a better source for leads. I was only making the point that you could list in multiple cities if You know how to go about it. That's all.[/U] I would never promote any IM product or service on Craigs list.
