Hey I was just needing some general info on how people are getting traffic with stumbleupon. I understand Digg and others but have not grasped the way you can get substantial traffic from Stumble and know a few others who can't figure it out either. So I am just basically asking for a simple outline of what you do.
The basic theory of stumbleupon is that when people stumble upon your site (through the tool-bar or manually) and thumbs up your page - it increases the chance of someone naturally stumbling on your site (this can often be guided by reviews or tags that people leave) A few options: 1. Paid stumbles - for five cents a visitor you can guarantee a certain number of stumbles onto your page (this can be targeted very precisely to locations and demographics) This doesn't guarantee that people will like the content and give it a thumbs up - but it does make sure that your content is going to be seen. This is official stumbleupon advertising. 2. There are a number of paid stumbles/exchanges - where you can pay individuals - or reciprocate with individuals to get your site stumbled. However, for some reason I've found that this doesn't seem to give the same traffic boost as a natural stumble. In the past I've foudn that it's often better to try and get a sub-page of interesting content stumbled rather than the front page. It's also worth noting that the nature of stumbling is that people often surf through sites very quickly - sometimes its simply seconds to assess whether they like the site and then they are back stumbling - this means that stumble traffic may not have the same quality as other forms. Bonus hint: I read somewhere the other day that it's important that you stumble upon your page first. If you are the first person to give it a thumbs up and a review you can establish the initial set of tags that will tell stumble-upon the context and content of your site. If you leave it up to someone else - it means that you are relying on their good sense. Dylan
you need to join maximum groups and follow the stumbler in those groups to get the traffic..!! thats a nice trick i used..!!
If your website or blog isn’t receiving traffic from Stumbleupon, it should be! You can get started with SU by visiting the homepage here: Stumbleupon, and clicking “join Stumbleupon†at the top of the page. You can then select what suits you best from the list of categories, thus ensuring you only receive stumbles that may be of interest to you. Once you are signed up install the “SU Toolbarâ€, which is compatible with all the major browsers, then you are ready to go.
definitely through having more friends on the stumble upon more chances of traffic we can get. But must be interesting beforehand so people would love to hit the thumbs up
Hmmm... I see that this has been done before, but maybe we can try a repeat? Forming a Stumble Community
There is some step by this you can increase your traffic - 1. Create the good profile in stumble upon. 2. Increase the followers 3. Share webpage by your followers 4. like shared webpage of others 5. send message threw stumble upon 6. Use regularly stumbleupon here is the example of good profile great stumbler of stumbleupon Upesh Rajak visit for see http://www.stumbleupon.com/stumbler/upeshrajak
Gain more friends, follow them, post many catchy information, make some reviews on other posts and just learn how to mingle with other stumblers.
Stumbleupon also have a paid stumble service, as mentioned in this thread starting at 5 cents. However make note that they are very strict in terms of approving websites, so by default, investments/pharmacy/gambling/adult sites are not accepted. Besides this the story needs to be good and yes its pointless to promote just your front page. The more targeted the content is, higher the chances of getting more stumbles and thus traffic.
It is not necessary having the more fan following but the important is, how relevant they are to you so that they can love to hit the thumbs up
It's always a great idea to submit topics to social bookmarking sites that are bound to go viral, so it's always a good idea to know the audience
