Its already been proven that .CO ranks just as well as any other gTLD. Google has been on record and stated that they treat it just like a gTLD, so that leaves it up to SEOs to get it ranked. The problem that I keep hearing about is people complaining that their .CO name is not ranking well in the HIGHLY competitive keyword market (like coffee for example).
I am not sure if these people understand that you are dealing in a HIGHLY competitive keyword. Everybody and their mother are going for that keyword and they are bringing their resources (money) to put behind getting the 1st page for that keyword. The chances of anyone coming from off the streets and getting ranked on the first or second page for a HIGHLY competitive keyword like that is close to nil (zero). I don't care what extension you have, its hard as hell to get ranked for sought after keywords. They bring the traffic and everybody wants them.
Just keep that in mind, when you are trying to rank your keyword rich domain names.

    Just my thoughts.
    Cheers

I have a few of my names over at Sedo. I am going to wait to see if I get an offer on them so that I can bring them to auction. I am leaving them without a set price for now to see what happens.
I would like to see what Ork.co, Clam.co, MP3Converter.co, and USBDrive.co would pull in an auction.
Granted they are not the greatest domain names known to man, but they all have decent keyword stats and can be easily made into some sort of retail site or forum.

I guess only time will tell.
    Cheers

    Wow... that was your sale?
There is something to be said with registering a domain at $30 and selling it at $3,500. I call that a good sale. Now if you can do that 100 more times... you will be set!

    LOL

I am thinking that I am going to take the easy way out and make Egyptian.co a blog. I just don't have any other inspiration for it right now and with Egypt in the news so much, its a shame to let it wait.

    What are you thoughts?

    A little self promotion :)

One of my domains, Specialist.CO, appraised at $7,120 by Cax.com's appraisal system, is on auction at Cax. You can have this gem for just $100.

All extensions, even some obscure ccTLDs, are taken.

I wouldn't bother with TM names, they just aren't worth it. Was that your sale?

    Hey everybody..

.. some good news to anybody that cares about actually developing your dot co names

I bought my 'DesignCompany.co' in the landrush - this is a few days more than a year ago to the day

    .. i'm presently ranking with a PR3

and honestly, very little link building

not the biggest most important news of all time, but i'm obviously pleased and this is also very promising for future development.

best of luck to you all :)

Ok this is off the beaten path but I have been giving this some thought.
I am not sure if anyone took advantage of Godaddy's X.CO shortener when it came out.
For those who don't know, Godaddy allowed you to get vanity names *BUT* they also allowed to you change what site/page the vanity name is tied to.

(So for instance, if you had x.co/forum and it was pointed to a forum on a site that you sold. Well you can change the site and have it pointed to a new site at any time)
So I log onto x.co again to and noticed that they now allow give you the qr code for each vanity name you have. So now you can either get a link to the QR image or get the code to embed into you site. (3 sizes).
So far I have registered several thousand hits from 45 different countries. Its my opinion that people seem to react more when you use a vanity name instead of a generic shortened name. Does anyone else have any experience with this?
