Some great ways to market your blog in the beginning is to earn followers on twitter, friends on facebook as well as other social networks and post links to your posts. If you are providing something of value to people the traffic will come. Also download a social networking plugin that appears after every post so your getting folks to share your posts. I also have a plugin that inserts my Twitter id after every post and encourages users to Google Plus one me. Use Google's Keyword search tool to find low competition long tail keywords for your tags and subject lines. Look for anyone posting questions that you maybe able to answer via a post on your blog.
