Every blog can produce its own style if it intends on being ahead of the competition. The goal of this article is to show how this can be achieved with your blog to obtain a loyal fan base that continues to grow.

Keep Yourself Visible: When people visit a blog, they want to know about the blogger as well as whatever he/she is writing about. Adding this personal touch can make a big difference about how visitors feel about your blog, and it will help you attract more readers who come back regularly. Your visitors won't like an unnatural writing style, nor will they want to read something that looks like it has been picked up from a dry corporate website. The way to make your blog original is to express something of who you really are in your posts. If you're going to try to ape someone else, then you'll end up losing yourself and it'll be difficult for you to convince someone to actually like and subscribe to your blog. You can't please everybody, but by showing who you really are, you'll start to develop a real rapport with a growing number of readers. When you do this, you'll be building the foundation for connecting with the people who visit your blog.

The Value of Consistency: Adding content to your blog is something that you must do on a regular schedule. People usually like and subscribe to blogs that are updated consistently, rather than the ones that make an update once a month. If readers can find high quality content on a regular basis on your blog, they'll want to keep returning. Create a timetable that you're able to follow so that visitors can regularly look forward to finding new content on your site. Regular posting is essential in order to show your readers that you take an active interest in your blog and are continually working on it. Put in the required effort to make your readers feel special and give them targeted and original content that they wouldn't find elsewhere -regularly.

Stay on the Subject: There's just a lot of confusion on the web these days. People are having a hard time and get too much online info. If you really want your blog readers to become regular readers, then do not deviate from the blog's main subject. Your aim/objective should be to deliver high quality content to your readers covering targeted topics that they are interested in. This will give you the chance to build yourself up as an expert in your niche and provide your readers something to anticipate in the future. Keep in mind that as a blogger, you should use whatever method is beneficial to get more readers and create a fan base.

    Good point on being yourself.

Tim Ferriss mentioned that if he publishes something that ticks some people off there will be others who will like it. They then will spread the word and he will gain followers that will replace those who left. Basically, he has some control over the composition and the demographics of his readership through this. They change and grow with him.

Also, he has an old video in which he describes his methodology.

Good content + interesting content, easy navigation, simple to remember name (no dashes { - }) in the domain name and usually .com or .net are easily remembered, more-so .com.

about your point of " Keeping Yourself Visible", yes it is important to have a proper identity, "posted by admin" doesn't really work well all the time, post on your blog with your real name or with an interesting nick name, try to involve and engage users while posting or writing about different topics, ask your visitors to leave comments, motivate them to leave comments, comments are really good to develop a healthy and strong relationship with a blogger and his/her audience.

Good point on using a list. You could also use twitter and start a facebook fanpage as well.
