Description for my website is not coming in the google search result

Please check the image I have attached. I don't know why the description which i have set, is not coming in the google search result. I am using wordpress!

Check whether you have blocked any content in your robots.txt file.

 

Don't assume Google to behave as it used to a decade or even a year ago. We usually know that meta description tag comes in SERP and influence the click-though. But the decision is solely based in Google's most relevant cached text or para within the web.

So, as you have used such a text in meta tag that least describe the search query, yet again it's your website which has to come on rank #1 for searching with "coolfacts.in" so it has picked the most relevant one from your content.

 

also i would say check if your description tag is properly formatted...and then check if the words "Cool facts" are included in the description. Since your running worpress check out the all in one SEO plugin for word press which will allows you to create your custom title, description and keyword tag. Also do bear in mind that Google does'nt always take the text from your description tag. In case it is not relevant to the keyword being searched for, it can pick it up from your content.

 

Google seems to be taking a little bit longer in updating sites and crawling sites...

I would say to give it about 7 days or so, and if it was properly done on your side, it will show up.

The reason Google has chosen (Read chosen) to use other content in your description is because it prefers the text it chose from your content

It's like saying "You don't set the description displayed on Google - Google does"

 

I think you need to put the description in the meta tag

I think Google has picked the description from your keywords. Please re-write your descriptions with your keyword. Please keep it within 150 - 155 characters. This is an important factor.

 

yea sometimes google will come out with whatever it wants to
It'll come out eventually tho

Either google lieks that description more or maybe you didnt put your description right

Because you have just added "The name says it all!" as you site description . and you are searching using your site URL cool facts . And google in searching for word cool fact across your site and showing that in description section

It happens with many websites.
Many times Google picks your website's description from DMOZ... Do check if yours case is the same.
In other cases, if Google does not found your description relevant to your web page... It modifies your description which is more relevant for your website.

 

I have tried changing the meta description using the all in one seo pack. Now when I check the source of my webpage, the description is coming. Hope iot will work out!

A few things:
1) Make sure you have the META DESCRIPTION tag on correctly without errors.
2) Make sure its of sufficient length and containers no spelling errors or invalid characters.
3) Then, submit a fresh sitemap to Google.
4) Make use of social bookmarking for the pages you're having trouble.
5) Google should update it once it next crawls your page.

Google have changed its algorithm a lot and meta tags are given less important now a days. The Crawler compare the description against the content of the page and if it founds it complying with the content of page only then the meta description is shown otherwise crawler can select any text from the content of page.
