What are the advantages of No-Follow backlinks?

Hi ,

I've confusion about no-follow backlinks. I post comments on my fellow blogs but most of the high Page Rank blogs are no-follow. So what does it mean? As everyone knows that no-follow backlinks are not considered by search engines.

My questions are:

1. Could someone tell me all possible benefits of No-Follow backlinks?
2. Do they help the website to be indexed in search engines?

1. As far as i know, no-follow backlinks can give you traffics (depend on where you have this backlink, if that site has no visitors, then you will have a few traffics too)

2. I guess not.

 

1. Traffic, more diverse backlink profile.
2. Yes, I think you can get indexed via nofollow link.
Overall I would not get nofollow links unless they would bring me traffic.

 

yahoo and bing still counts nofollow links so they have lots of value. google is not the end of the world

 

No follow links on a well trafficked blog/forum always does wonders... as it gives you unparalleled visibility. The no-follow nature also prevent people from having their back links on such pages... which further increases the visibility area of your link!

No follow link from good relevant site can increase our site traffic. Right combination of do follow and no follow links can make our link building campaign natural to the search Engines. Hope, I am clear.

 

no follow link can help you drive traffic to your site. it once again fall on the quality of the site. IMO no follow and do follow works the same way, each has cons and pros but one things for sure they are both beneficial for your site.

Yahoo and Bing do not allocate "PageRank" over nofollow links - although there was an "accident" not too long ago when Bing did: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/08/05/bing-indexing-nofollow-content. However nofollow links are very important - a site with too many links that are all dofollow is unnatural, so you're risking making your link building work too obvious if you only have dofollow links. Nofollow links are an important part of a natural link profile.

 

I don't know about that, because even Yahoo uses the "nofollow" attribute on its very own sites. Check yahoo answers for example. Every link posted there is a nofollow link. This means that probably Yahoo doesn't take into consideration nofollow links, at least not anymore.

 

what I'm aware is no-follow will not give you a boost in your page rank. However it will still give you good traffic!
Indexing - use dofollow.

My personal experience says there is no advantage of the no follow backlinks ....because the google does not give the weightage to the no follow backlinks.....when it crawls the backlinks with no follow attribute ...it removes those links from counting ....
