    I used the free tool in my sig, social monkee on a new site and some of the links themselves are in the top 20 as well as boosting my site.

    It is not super competitive term but it did go to #1 with just that tool submitting the posts.

    Backlinks are very much important to increase traffics to your site. To get quality backlinks you should consider the pr of the website where you will submit your link. The higher the pr the better. You should see to it that the website that link back to your website are so much related. You may also submit your site to quality social bookmarking sites.
