    directory submission is good. they also have a good effect in the SEO. but the main problem is that they share their link with thousands of other links that's why the quality of the links are not so good. :(

    For me my 1 experience directory submission is waste if we do free submit means. I submit above 2000 directory submission for one site but i dont get any approved link.

    OR

    If you like to do paid link or reciprocal link means ok .....it will help to you but it is also 3moths or 6 months time period only.....

    I think it helps if site is submitted to high PR directories. I agree the approval takes time but once approved the links stay there and are permanent back links. In my opinion its an effective way to increase ranking and visibility for search engines.
