Sitemaps not being read?

Discussion in 'Google Sitemaps' started by ian_batten, Oct 27, 2006.

I have uploaded a sitemap to my website, with around 60 links to a sub domain on my website. It has been uploaded for about 4 months now, and google regularly crawls my website. However, the links in the sitemap are not being read...

Is there any reason why this is happening? There are no errors on the sitemap.

AFAIK: If your domain is www.example.com and you have your sitemap placed there, Google will ignore links to e.g. sub.domain.com

(they are considered two different locations)

You have to tell google it's there. Submit it as suggested in post # 2

Yes, that is what I mean, I have submitted my sitemaps through the google webmasters page. But, still not being read.
Thomas: thanks, that is interesting. So, how would I go about adding a sitemap for the sub domains?
