why they show only first 20

Hi

i was looking for indexed page by google. google shows 9360 page indexed. but it shows only 20 of them .

can anybody explain this? why?

 

Probably your site has been penalized by an anti-spam Algo or a Quality Rater.

 

Hmm, that is weird usually there is a repeat the search with the omitted results included at the end of your list of urls. But from my experience when you have alot of pages indexed like you do Google will never show all your pages when you use the site: function

 

yes i know google shows 1000 results per search but google shows only 20 result for me

 

this is a common problem , not only in google but also in Yahoo and MSN. I discovered it while i was working for diverse seo tools.
The problem is that search engines must work very fast, and for a big keyword they don't have the time to count hundret of millions pages... so they try to guess! I don't known what algoritms they use, but they try to guess the results numbers

Results 1 - 10 of about 81,700,000 for free php scripts.

etc... see that for this keyword, they have at the end just 000, and not 061, or 919,,, why ?! because they are guessing how many results they are, they don't count for all

 

Are the pages indexed? If so don't worry about it!
