    If you reply helpful, quality replies at Yahoo Answers then certainly you shuold expect good traffic and reputation to your profile and website linking your profile. Although it won't help you in SEO but if you want traffic then be active on Yahoo Answers !
    For SEO purpose you need to try other methods for link builing method.

    Yes it's a good idea and it works. Just make sure you don't spam your link everywhere. Give good quality answers or yahoo will ban you from using yahoo answers. Also you have to be Level 2 on yahoo answers to post a clickable link.

    I am trying to figure out the difference between traffic through a link like this and a link that improves PR.

    Is not the purpose to just increase traffic? Why is there a distinction between increasing traffic and increasing PR? :confused:

    Yahoo answers are no follow, you won't be befitted in term of Page-Rank but you keep doing that because it gives huge traffic to you site. Dont be concern About the Page-Rank think they are useless, they don't help you in any mean.
