I am planning to launch a product for UK market and was thinking to buy .uk domain. However, i notice that .co.uk is already taken but i still have option to buy .org.uk.

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between these two?

I suppose that the difference is like the same as .com and .org.. No doubt, co.uk will be better choice.

.co.uk is the better choice, why? they are more common and are easier to remember.

.org.uk is generally only used by UK organisations - unlike the common .otg tld which is used by anyone these days.

.org.uk is not nearly as popular and highly regarded as .co.uk but if the keywords you are looking to get are strong, this might still be a good option. If not, try to find different targeted keywords that are still available in the .co.uk extension.

They're both viewed similarly by Google in the UK index, .co.uk is premium from the resale/value point of view. There are no set rules on who can own .org.uk so the only reason I'd not go for it would be if the .co.uk version is active and already selling a similar product.

You can rank a .org.uk on search engines just as well as a .co.uk, but you may lose a few type - ins when it comes to people trying to remember your url.
Obviously this also effects value and branding.

.co.uk for commercial and .org.uk for charity organisations in united kingdom. It doesn't really matter what domain you want to use and you are not restricted by what type of organisation you are, it is better to use a domain that will relate to your organisation.

    .co.uk is better than .org.uk
.org extension is generally for non profit organizations.
    .com for commercial .
so, .co.uk is better than .org.uk anyday!
