We lie when we feel it should not be known to other, when you're not at ease about something, or when you need to hide something... but it should not be taken as a habit.

It depends on the situation. Sometimes people face a kind of situation when telling a small lie can save his life. Sometimes they do it for money, sometimes it becomes a disease to someone.
