Definitely Lennon. Paul MaCartney is good as well but comparatively, no way!

I believe that John Lennon's status is overrated. People do not like to talk negatively about those who are not with us any longer and so they are hesitant to say anything against him as a musician. His solo work comes as a bit arrogant and self-absorbed. He was really defined more by his death rather than his talent.

Although, I will say him and McCartney wrote some outstanding songs!

Both John Lennon and Paul Macartney are without doubt great artists-in the case o John its was-,but as with every debate or argument, a side has to be taken. I will pitch my tent with Paul McCartney. He is a greater artist; a musical genius, or how else can one describe an artist who's responsible for 32 number one singles on the US billboard Hot 100 chart...MUSICAL GENIUS

They are both amazing artisits. But I tend to love the songs Paul wrote a little bit better than John's. Plus Yoko freaks me out.

These two were (or still is) incredible human beings with enormous talents.  It could be, sadly, that they were at they're very best when they were together.  Point take, Lennon was taken away too soon and it's impossible to know what would have happened (maybe a reunion?).  It still seems like Lennon was the one with an millimeter more talent?  PS I find that Yoko freaks me out too (but she might not remained a part of the equation).
