What has happened to DP? Lots of spammers spamming here

I don't know what has happened to DP, but spammers are everywhere here at DP and we are getting Posts like "I agree","Nice Information","Thanks for the information dear" etc. Many people are just posting all the useless stuff to increase their post count.

SEO and Google section is filled with such kind of posts. I wonder where are the mods??
Mods please do something.

 

Yeah I reported a post earlier but no action was taken, so I though that mods don't pay attention to the reported posts.

Well I signed up 20th this month I didn't pay much attention to this at that time but as I am spending more time here I can see a lot of that. I have reported a few posts. I'll continue to report. Hope the situations get better.

 

But I thought that the forum guidelines say that we can report posts that we find offensive or rude. Just asking?

 

I also observe that the used to be active and post worthy users are leaving DP and I suspect that they were banned already because of the strict regulations of the new moderators. DP used to be very interactive especially with web dev issues with lots of useful mind comments or make critics on topics. But now there are too few of them here and lots of useless one liner posts.

 

please check this member "jcyber" he is a premium member but check out he is posting like in every post and only the one-liners most of these posts either not helpful for the discussion some are just un-related.

 

dont know as per i know dp is place where when any one try to do spam then he receive infraction point..they moderate every post put in this..also making it spammer free is also our responsibly so whenever anyone see any post which is bad then make it report abbuse also never do anything that look span..always spend your precious time in contribution

1. OP can't get PR he is looking for if he will have only 3 backlinks
2. Real life people know better than recommending submission to DMOZ because
a) you may never get listed in there
b) even if you get listing, you still will get only 1 backlink, duh
3. You mention "quality" but never mention names of quality directories
thus living OP wondering which of thousands of them quality
4. even suggesting to stay away from free directories, only friends new site owner has
mostly if OP doesn't have any money to pay for paid directories is showing total ignorance
and lack of understanding not to mention usefulness of post itself.

Well I have my opinion and I think I have the right to express it. It may not look correct to you but can't you just disagree with it instead of getting personal.

I think you have completely lost it you have no control over yourself. You are just trying to target me only because of a reason you have made into your mind. Can't you just move on and behave a like a normal member.

 

I am sure the op means the General chat threads. Mods dont need to go to 100 threads to find a spam post. You can go to one thread and find more than 3.

 

See, this is what I don't understand. Why do you say that "real life" people should know better? While maybe in YOUR eyes this isn't your top pick, it may be to Akasheg. And maybe you're right, it isn't the best place to submit, but instead of bashing someone and telling them they should know better, why don't you give your top pick and explain why it is better. And would it hurt you to say it nicely?? Also, I dont know how well this place is monitored sometimes.. it seems that seniority wins in all cases. So, the newbies can't put in one word answers like "nice post" but the people who have been around forever get to be total A-holes. In my opinion, not fair.

Make the signature link for non-premier members "no-follow" and i can guarantee that spam will be cut by 50% in a week
most of the members just come here to increase their post count to get as many backlinks as possible!

 

Well that is a good option but I think that would affect the traffic of the forum badly because many of the contributing members also like to have links for free.

 

get a premium account if anyone wants to get links!

 

Not a bad idea. If DP ever did something like that, they might consider making the content of the actual posts no-follow as well.
