I got 0 to 1 and with a few backlinks only.I have thought to get pr2 or 3 but i will see next time update

 

My newly created website 2 month old got from 0 to 4

 

and you couldn't post this in one of the other 5,000 PR update threads....?

 

I'm dam sure that pagerank is losing its weight in terms of search engine.
Actually after google panda update so many webmaster loses their traffic

 

I thought PR only goes up, just like the stock market

Funny most of my sites with big positives jumps is already getting more traffic from Mr G ;-)

Any change to the code on the main page will lower your pagerank.

PR is just a number ... stop wasting time with it ...

 

Various changes in PR in many of my websites. One went from 0 to 3, one from 2 to 3, many remained stable. Many websites I sold off in the last few months also gained PR and will benefit the new owners. Also faced PR loss in a few non-active websites. One went down from 2 to 1 and the most surprising one was of a 3+ year old website going from 3 to 0 which I had not updated for nearly a year or more. The relevance of fresh content is increasing day by day and it only reiterates the fact. Though did not expect a drop to 0 directly from PR 3 for that site.

EDIT: Just checked another website which also reduced from 2 to 1. Lot of mixed results I suppose.

 

PR is not the only thing that decides SERP or traffic but it is quite helpful in the same. It is a number but quite an useful one at that. Should not give too much importance but it should not be neglected completely too. And if the website has got quality then it would probably get some PR in the long run. So, it is related to a lot of things though maybe not directly.

 

According to Qoolest.com Directory of Web Directories our PR 4 AMRAY Directory
was 137 after PR 5 and up directories, after last update it moved to 98 spot, which
means 39 PR 5 and up directories devalued to PR4 or less.

Directories penalized by Google 4 years ago including AMRAY are having the same PR as before.

I agree with you but totally amazing as i am newbie in this field and seen first time that Google iteself Page Rank went down.
