    yes writing new article everyday/more often is a plus factor because google wants it, but make sure that you write things with 'sense' and will help your readers a lot. :)

    It can be a targeted, niche blog, you can write good stuff about weight loss or anti-aging for example, and you can end up earn tons of bucks, but that's not enought. in addition, you'll have to promovate your website, you'll have to be a social media person too and stuff...
