The only way to boost the economy is to let people who create wealth keep it. Why on earth you liberal nutjobs believe that this is your money to spend defies logic. You're eventually gonna run out of people to tax, then where will you be? See also GREECE.

Keynesian economics have been generally and thoroughly applied throughout the West, there is no debating that. So why would it be a good idea to do more of the same to fix the problem it created in the first place?

Logic, logic, logic! I'm lovin' it!

Because pouring gasoline on a fire will eventually make the fire go out... When you run out of gasoline that is.

The gasoline is an accelerant and works flawlessly in igniting the fuel - Mia simply squanders the fuel on an unnecessary war (Iraqi) leaving himself no fuel to burn.

The "politically correct" version of what has happened to the US economy is not flying anymore.

Raising the debt ceiling is the wrong thing to do. Throwing more gas on a fire made with gas does not put it out. Breezewood... Learn your economics lesson :

Talk about missing a point.
Adding debt only accelerates the level of debt.
Eventually you run out of people paying on the debt.
In the overall picture, the war on terror amounts to a flea on a elephants arse in terms of expenditures.

This week, I heard The Daily Show, CNN, and CNBC all say that the unemployment rate is really 16%.

But here's my question: the Republicans own the House now. All economic bills originate in the House. What is Speaker Boehner's plan to improve the economy?

The only Republicans in either house trying to do anything are not worried about losing their jobs. The rest are... So here we sit.

"Obama inherited financial collapse, deficits, and debt. He inherited a broken political culture. These things weren't his fault. But through his decisions, he made them all worse."

"For a significant portion of the population, it's not a question of whether the recovery is stagnating; it never got started," says Celinda Lake, Democratic pollster. Lake says she has seen this attitude in her firm's research. When officials and economists first said the economy was coming back, she says, "we went into focus groups, and people said, 'I don't know [where] you're getting this from. This is not what we're seeing.'"

The Democrats have the firepower to defend their convictions if they are willing to sustain their resolve.

Those responsible for the 07-09 Great Recession are the same people who have now walked away from the negotiating table insisting again they will only follow their own agenda irregardless the immediate history that it was their failed Policies and Principles that has led to the present crisis.

Rather than a negotiated agreement for America as a Nation the county again is confronted by insistence from one political party to follow only their agenda or in this instance they will be willing to abrogate in total the nations obligations, faith of credit and trust to the world rather than agreeing to a settlement within their own gov't.

Time has run its course, the present Administration has the leverage to negotiate a balanced agreement of inclusion, debt reduction and revenue to continue the recovery and maintain the full faith and credit of the country and should do so in a manner benefiting the country than just the self-interests of a single political party.

Why the Jobs Situation Is Worse Than It Looks: We now have more idle men and women than at any time since the Great Depression By Mortimer B. Zuckerman
June 20, 2011
"Today, over 14 million people are unemployed. We now have more idle men and women than at any time since the Great Depression."

"We face the specter that long-term unemployment is becoming structural and not just cyclical..."

"Don't pay too much attention to the headline unemployment rate of 9.1 percent. It is scary enough, but it is a gloss on the reality. These numbers do not include the millions who have stopped looking for a job or who are working part time but would work full time if a position were available. And they count only those people who have actively applied for a job within the last four weeks."

Include those others and the real number is a nasty 16 percent. "

Well Mort, as with the Great Depression caused primarily by the same Policies and Principles employed to generate the present Republican Great Recession, unraveling the cohos they caused takes time and patience - What is different this time is the Obama Administration has prevented a relapse into a Depression and conceivably will have the recovery in full swing this time next year after only 3 years in office rather than the decade required for the 1930s Republican Depression.

And Mort, what have the Republicans done in light of their mishandling of the economy....more self-interest, taking from the least able and most affected by their policies while walking away from negotiations for balancing the budget again demanding only their already proven failures as their recipe for solving the Nations problems......without change "structural and not just cyclical" indeed will be the outcome.

Really, the truth is that the same people who were responsible for the Depression in the 30s are up to their same tricks.
For a hint, I learned yesterday that the first treasurer to the United States was killed by a banker; Aaron Burr. Now, they, the bankers,
do not kill each other since they are on the same team.

The day of reckoning is coming for those who believe the Breezewood story. Every dollar being printed up is a loan from the central banks. That means it comes with instant interest, making every dollar a DEBT that must be repaid. Who are these billions of debts ( dollars ) created for ? The American people. If you are an American Citizen, that is YOU.

There is one banker who seems to be trying to tell the truth. He is Kansas City Fed President Thomas Hoenig. Look him up online to see what he says about what is truly going on. If there are people here fooled by Breezewood, look up Thomas Hoenig and remember that Iceland is taking their bankers to court, not rewarding them with free money from their citizens.

yeah, there was a famous duel with aaron burr and alexander hamilton, this is not a light moment in american history.

here is the famous got milk commercial that helped pushed the entire "got milk" campaigns with the milk mustashes for milk in the mid to late 1990's,

wikipedia first paragraph for Aaron Burr:

"Aaron Burr, Jr. (February 6, 1756 – September 14, 1836) was an important political figure in the early history of the United States of America. After serving as a Continental Army officer in the Revolutionary War, Burr became a successful lawyer and politician. He was elected twice to the New York State Assembly (1784–1785, 1798–1799),[1] was appointed New York State Attorney General (1789–1791), won election again as a United States Senator (1791–1797) from New York, and reached the high point of his career as the third Vice President of the United States (1801–1805), under President Thomas Jefferson. Burr is also remembered as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Despite these accomplishments and others, including his progressive views against slavery[2] and in favor of equal rights for women,[3] Burr is mainly remembered as the man who killed Alexander Hamilton in the famous 1804 duel."

what banks and financial institutions are trying is to bet against the nominal debt that we produce. in other words, "hedge".

towards the great depression angle, there was something that could have pulled us out of the great depression but everybody jumped into the war effort and it got us out of the debt, what about that strategy?

this is a half ass post from what i can post but i'm tired so respond and i will try to respond with the whole picture from my point of view soon.

Though a little shaky the Recovery again shows amazing resilience in light of the economic pressures and political headwinds (Republicans) in Washington.

The Tea Party House will have little choice in July than to enact legislation in regards to the debt ceiling or for that matter any legislation at all they seem incapable to produce.

* Perhaps not noticed by everyone but the Obama Administration has taken the House to task for not fulfilling their responsibility in passing much needed legislation - and rightly so.....maybe they need the Liberals to show them how it's done ????

Without Scott Walker and a Republican controlled assembly and senate here in WI, we would have shut down too.
