Google just dropped the price of Urchin On Demand from $495 to $199 a month and now includes stats for 50 sites instead of just one. You can now also import directly from your AdWords account. More info: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/index.php?p=1663 Seems like an excellent deal! Those who bought it at original prize must be gutted though.
I use Urchin-5 and it's a fine product. I've been wanting to use 'on-demand' and now it's price is a non-issue. Anyone have experience using this w/ osc?
i was just getting ready to sign up and firefox told me the certificate is invalid also tried to call and none of the numbers are working.
I'm just praying the acquisition doesn't affect them putting out Urchin 6 as a product later this summer. I bought Urchin 5 right after Google acquired them (about a month ago), and was promised it wasn't going to affect it, since I'm really after Urchin 6 as a product. {crossing fingers}
I was just about to sign up for the fifteen day demo and saw this: I know this is google and all, but it makes me think of RealPlayer and AOL... they just don't want you to cancel.
What a great package! I've been using this for about a week now and I'm very excited about it. I still need to get a few things set up (properly). Anyone else trying it?
Well AWStats doesn't really compare. Just check out there demo. http://urchin.com/products/demo/?folderLoc=Urchin6Demo
I just started using it instead of awstats (actually... I still have awstats running just in case) and here are a few things I really like that it does: 1) more accurate visitor tracking using utm (urchin tracking monitor I think) 2) being able to see popular search terms for a date range. (daily and weekly options rather than just monthly or yearly) 3) pretty pictures (urchin graphs are much more effective) 4) stats on visitor screen size, javascript version, java enabled (effective for planning functionality in the future) 5) click paths - where visitors entered, where they went from there. 6) better robot identification. (caught 5 bad robots I didn't see with awstats since I installed it) 7) good info on visitor loyalty - how many repeat visitors am I getting on a day to day basis vs. new visitors. 8) crazy fast running. AWStats sometimes could take a few minutes on a site that got decent traffic. Urchin just flies when processing stats. I did like the fact that AWStats presents everything on one page, but there's too much info in urchin to do that.
There are a few nice features that awstats doesnt have .. you can see everything in a more detail summary. Awstats is good also. So i will always use both
