Yep thats true...i got my 2 sites listed withing 2-3 days....

But it actually depends on the editor of your category, if he is active then your site will be listed soon, if your site is worth listing!

We're getting a bit off-topic, but here's a "Hulk Smash" picture for dastuff (it's actually my son). Plus you can listen to Hulk SMASH! ;-)

vishuboy, you can always volunteer to edit that category. We always need editors for regional categories in languages other than English. :)

Not true I have a site that is 100% original in both design and content, looks professional, and is listed in several other PR7,8,9 directories including Yahoo but after 3 submissions to DMOZ and 17 months later......nothing

If you provide the URL and where you submitted it then someone may be able to tell you if the site has a problem or whether it is in an area that has low editor activity. The design, professional look, and listings elsewhere have no bearing whatsoever on whether DMOZ will list the site. But if you have 100% original content and lots of it then it should be listable. Note also that DMOZ says to submit once - submitting 3 times has no beneficial effects and can only have negative ones, e.g. if the editor reviews in date submitted order then you have made progress up the queue then sent yourself to the end of the line twice - don't do it.

And the point is? People have been 'talking about the death of dmoz' almost since its inception. There is nothing new there. The problem is 'the people' most often talking about the death of dmoz are the ones that cannot make it work the way they wish it to or they cannot manipulate it into offering something it doesn't and never intended to. Sure there are things that can and need to be improved, but for the most part these are not the things that are being pointed by those predicting the demise of the directory.

odd, it's still not working for me. Maybe it's a browser thing? I use FireFox. What are you using?

    ( I feel so left out. )

ACK! It's a conspiracy, I just tried it with IE and I still can't get it to load. What's up with that?
