You can try VISUAL STUDIO 2010 EXPRESS, Microsoft give away free. Microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2010-editions/express, if you prefer a tool not require installation, you can get Notepad++ and kompozer from portableapps.com/apps

I use and love Dreamweaver's v8.x code editor. Best (web) code editor in the world in my opinion. Coloured code, code hints, search and replace on entire directories, etc etc blablabla. You love what you know.

When I can't use DW, I use PSPad. It's free, has most of what DW has, including FTP support, and will run off a USB stick. I'm puzzled why it doesn't get more luvz.

I think NVU is good. It has some nice features, but I think Quanta is better. You should compare the two for yourself.

Are you kidding me ? MS Expression Web is extremely limited compared with the code monster called DW . Also like all MS products you can only use it if you pay .
All Microsoft Expression products are designed to work as a complementary product besides the Creative Suite and give ASP .NET and .NET creators better design tools so they can give their products the bling they so desperately need . Why else would they have .AI and .PSD integration ?

Dreamweaver is king and has been so since version 8 . With the massive flexibility you have with it you'd be mad not to use it if you can afford it .

Tey Komodo Edit. It's free, open-source, not a resource hog like DW and it's just beautiful. You will love it. ;)

I think you must go with adobe Photoshop. Because its more user friendly then Dreamweaver. Many professionals used this one because its more user friendly and you can make layouts more easily using this software. You can even easily design Joomla Templates, Css Templates and Magneto Templates easily on it.

I can't find the code editor in Photoshop. I typed it in using the Text Tool but my picture didn't work when I saved it as html.
