you select the keywords or targeted phrases you want to use on your site, then optimize your on-site content revolving around those keywords. you use your promary keyword in the title, main header, then use them few more times throughout the content. don't over do it as repeating the keyword over and over might be considered as keyword stuffing or keyword spamming by search engines and can get your site penalized. just use about once per 100-150 words or so which will be more than enough

Yes agree to this. The repetition of keywords should not exceed 3-5% either it'll be termed as keyword stuffing.

Keywords are very important for onpage optimization and consequently better search engine ranking and should be chosen carefully. Basically, a keyword is a word or phrase that you associate with your page so that when it is searched for by a potential customer your site comes up in the SERP (search engine results page).

You want to make sure the keyword or keywords you are trying to get ranked for in the search engines are actually within the content of that same page. However, you don't want to over do it either. It is also good to make sure similar words for the same search term are on the page as well.

Keyword optimization is a part of SEO without which SEO is nothing. It normally refers to the selection of keywords due to which users can find you on search engines.

Onpage keyword optimization is making sure the article on your website/webpage contains your target keywords. The title, meta-tags, H1 tags and meta-description should also contain your target keywords.
