can't login after changing domain name

i originally built a wordpress site at http://www.lynnanneshapiro.com. then we purchased a new domain name, http://www.lynnshapiromedicalwriter.com, changed the DNS settings (i think) and had the site reside at http://www.lynnshapiromedicalwriter.com with http://www.lynnannshapiro.com be a redirect to the new site.

however, now that the swap has been made, i can no longer login to the site at http://www.lynnshapiromedicalwriter.com/wp-login.php. when i try to login there, i get a message at the bottom of the screen saying "Waiting for lynnanneshapiro.com". And it never connects. it's probably looking for http://www.lynnanneshapiro.com/wp-admin.php which no longer exists.

you'll also notice that if you're on the login page (http://www.lynnshapiromedicalwriter.com/wp-login.php) and hover over the "Back to Lynn Anne Shapiro" link at the top, it links to the old site and not the new one.

what do i need to do to get it working properly and be able to login? do i need to make a change to the database? databases aren't my strong point so please be specific with any steps.

    please advise. thanks in advance!

It seems that you haven't changed "WordPress Address" and "Site Address" in Settings > General. Am I right?

I got it figured out. had to go to the database and change the site url from wp_options table.

open your wordpress root directory with ftp client and download wp-config.php file.

Now in this file paste these two lines at the end of the file:

Now login and tell me if it is working or not :)
