Last September, everyone here graciously helped my daughter in a very big way by taking a few seconds out of their lives to vote for Pepsi to award $250k to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, which we did win; greatly because of everyone here. Here is that thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1952209 Today, that money is being used towards life saving research which will lead to treatments that will save girls, like my very own daughter, from dying early in life from a disease called Rett Syndrome, which is the most severe from of autism in girls. When boys get this genetic disorder, they will usually die in the womb or before age 3. Girls can live disabled from age 3 to 50 in best cases. thousands of boys miscarry from this each year while thousands more girls are born with it. Currently, there is no treatment or cure, but researchers are very close. In fact, they are testing a very promising treatment right now. Today, we have another opportunity to raise more money towards saving my daughter's life and the thousands out there like her. Through the Vivint Project, we now have another shot at $250,000 if we have the most votes. You can vote once per day, everyday until August 27th, 2011. We are currently in 5th place (June 22nd), and about 7200 votes away from 1st place. Please help save my little girl by simply casting your vote for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Here is the link: http://www.vivint.com/givesbackproject/charity/998 And just like before, I can't thank you all enough for helping.
Voted umm just for people who are going to vote u will need to like this page http://www.facebook.com/VivintHome before u can actually vote
I'll put in a few votes from my *imaginary friends* FB accounts. And just like last year, I'll put a link to this thread in my sig.
You'll definetely get my vote, I'll spread your link around so you get more votes as well. Best of luck to your daughter.
Thanks guys for all the help. We fight so hard for our daughter, and hope that others never have to experience a child with Rett Syndrome. Researchers are testing a treatment which should be available in March 2014 if all goes well. We hope and pray it does. It's taken 24 million dollars to get there so far. Every dollar counts.
@Lavinco I remember you from last time, and voted again. This one was even faster than the Pepsi one, since you can just log in with your Facebook. Anyway, hope they discover an effective treatment soon.
Right now, our momentum is equal to 2nd and 3 position, and number 1 spot is still moving away from everyone, but slowing down their swing as well. All's we need is just a little more momentum and we will move away from 4th up to 2nd. And if we get a lot more momentum, we can get back 1st in a week or less. Thanks for voting everyday. It helps our voter base build strength.
Oh man i can't believe I've missed this thread . Anyway i've casted a few votes . The project in in stage 2 right ? I'll try to find some time to rally up a few hundred votes but this looks harder then the last time . Glad to hear that cure is in testing , i hope things will turn out like they did the last time .
Yes, it's in stage 2 with about 8 weeks to vote daily. Thanks for the daily support. I really appreciate it.
Lavinco, I will also put up your thread's link in my signature. Have cast a vote and will continue to do so till as long as I can. Wish you and your family the very best.
Same thing here... but also, like last time, I was expecting something scammy from the title and was pleasantly surprised to have something nice instead. Good luck!
