What is the point + 1 of google, whether affect SERP rankings on search engines??

No immediate effect yet but see it is floating lots of places now. Just think about facebook like button.

 

When you are signed into a Google account and you search on Google.com, a little +1 button will be located next to the organic and paid search results. Websites can also use the +1 button, so you may see it on certain sites you browse. By clicking the +1 button, you are telling your Google contacts that this is a site, product, etc. you recommend. So your contacts will see your recommendation if their search is relevant to your +1. Google describes the +1 action as “word of click” instead of “word of mouth”.

 

its Google's attempt to tab the popularity of any page. I think they are going to use this data in the ranking process.

 

The +1 button is shorthand for "this is pretty cool" or "you should check this out." - cited from Google.

This is pretty new and we shall monitor the effect of being 'voted'.

 

its more of a voting feature. doesn't have to do anything with serp, at least not yet

 

Would you as a matter of course put the button into each new website you biuild. Is it worth going back over new websites???

+1 is similar to Facebook's "like" feature. It is the counter feature by Google.

 

I think like button and this +1 is a weird thing and it has no real effect at all. But maybe I am wrong.

 

There are two reasons Google brought out the plus 1 button.

1 - If you are logged into your Google account and do a Google search, it will show you results that your friends have "plus 1'd".

2 - The main reason (in theory anyway) for the button is so that Google can start using social indicators to help them rank websites in their search engine. If a webpage has been plus 1'd a lot, it will be an indicator to Google that the webpage is popular, so they may rank it higher. This could be open to abuse of course, as site owners might start getting people to plus 1 their webpages. We'll see how Google does with it I guess.

 

its just like button of facebook for now, but somewhere over the rainbow it might have other effect in the near future

 

It's Google tab to check the popularity of Gmail users, Just work like button of facebook.

 

Anyone noticed any sites with results yet? I came across one site on one of my searches that had the plus1 indicator let where someone had clicked it. It is the only time I have seen it so far.

The google button allows its robots to include human preferences which may influence the search result in the near future.But then ,this can easily become a baitful tool for scammers wearing black hats.

 

Well I heard that Google is planning to take this big in a few months - its just a button right now.

 

Matt Cutts suggest that Google's +1 button is going to be a ranking signal.

 

for now it is just for personalised result pages, but you can be sure when there is sufficient data available, it will weight on the rankings.

 

Its exactly the same like facebook likes.. Am sure this will have effect on serps soon enough
