    content is the key now a days which i think is good for sites. Cuts down on the spam with google panda. Which i think is a good thing.

    Fresh content can rank on SERP's temporarily then they lose their positions in a few days. You are right. But a big site with thousands of pages is usually better than a small site with a few pages. More content can bring more organic traffic.
