Hosting have seen decline in prices since 1999, and its now becomming a very competative business, with tons of hosting providers selling hosting at unbelivable prices, with some selling hosting for $1.00 for 4years hosting. just a thought to find out how low should hosting be.

Well it all depends on what your looking for. If your fine with an overcrowded server managed by people making minimum wage go for a big host that offers it. They care about "bulk customers".
If you think you shouldn't be treated like a number go to a small/medium host that offers alot better service for the five bucks. Chances are you spend alot more then that on a cup of coffee or going out to eat.

$4 per month will get you a good shared hosting platform.

Namecheap's $4.95/month package lets you host up to 20 domains with unlimited bandwidth.

"cheap" is not always has a bad quality, "expensive" is not always has a good quality. Choose wisely. I prefer middle class.

Well said for middle class but I do not agree with the cheap, sooner or later, cheap host will always give you severe head ache.

It really depends on what you are doing with the domains you plan on purchasing host for.

If you plan to run some type of email service where you will be sending out massive amounts of emails, you will definitely need a dedicated server, and more than likely a qmail server as Exim can't handle large amounts of email queues and will end up dropping emails as a result.

Those could run you $500/month just for the dedicated and qmail server.

If you are just hosting a basic website, such as an adsense site or lead capture page or a blog, you can go to namecheap.com, or hostgator.com and get a decent hosting account for less than $10/month with unlimited space, domains, and bandwidth.

I wouldn't go for anything less than a $5/month plan, but you really just have to check out the host and see what their ratings are. If you determine that there are a lot of people that are happy with their service and the plans are right for what you want, then you've found what you are looking for.

Don't be quick to decide either, spend some time doing research.

Do the research in the beginning, so that you don't have problems later on.

There is always some limit in bandwidth or space so choose wisely rather than considering cheap.

This is true. Some of the hosting providers sometimes also suspend people's account. If this happens, you'll lose money for nothing.
