Do you think QR codes are effective for getting traffic?

Do you think wearing a T-Shirt of your QR code in public as you're out and about would have much impact, as well as having a bumper sticker on your car of the QR code.

QR codes are cool but I don't know how effective they are for getting traffic.

QR codes are GREAT for marketing in outdoor or social environments, namely concerts and retail venues. Coupons are great, as qriosity said! Since this is the 'Social Network' forum, they're great on Twitter now, too, when Twitter embeds your image directly into your followers' streams!

QR codes are still in their infancy, it will generate traffic for those who actually know what they are or what you do with/to them. But to everyone else who has no clue what they are it's going to take educating them first.

like pmbrent said...they are in their infancy, but we did increase the usage at one of our clients malls. previously , they just had the qr code on a display with the text saying "these are all the sales in the mall", we suggested they educate the public on how to use the code, provided a link to a reader to download, then to take a picture of the code. Increased the usage by 450%. try that if you have a client that fits.
