    I am curious who has the biggest vB forum on the web right now?

    Is it right here on DP? Or are there others bigger still?

    That's a big forum, do you know how long it's been going? Are you registered on it?

    That's pretty big, interesting to see how far the software has come in 10 years too.

    Would that be what you consider to be the criteria for the biggest?

    In that case, exbii.com has 1.7 million registered users.

    Anyway, nowadays 'big' doesn't say much. There are warez forums reaching up to 40.000 new posts per day, mainly due to the prevalence of bots. There are chat boards, where a million posts is about 1GB and 'article' boards where a million posts can be as much as 4GB.

    While offtopic.com is big, do you see anything fishy about their numbers? :)

    Their stats show 142,112,071 posts by 231,215 users. This means the average of EVERY SINGLE user has posted 615 posts (insanely way too high... since most users on a forum don't post at all). Compare this to an average of 33 posts per registered user here.

    But more importantly... if you add up the number of posts in all their forums, you get 10,579,143 posts... so where are the other 131,532,928 posts? :)

    From a small sample, it looks like they are getting about 9,000 posts per day... which means at that average it took them 43+ years to get 142M posts... so unless they started their site in the 1960s....

    So people visit their site to check it out since people say it's the biggest? {shrug}
