    Well, your PR will remain 0 until Google updates it PR irrespective of the number of backlinks that you have. Don't worry too much about backlinks - look for quality traffic and better SERPs which are more important today. I don't know how to answer how many backlinks does it take - it depends on quality and quantity of backlinks and the PR you are aiming for.

    Don't concentrate so much on PR, it's more important to have good rankings for the keywords you are hunting.

    High PR backlinks, lots of traffic, and good avg time spent on page are all factored in to page rank. If you get a number of high quality back links from high PR sites then you can end up with a PR1 site without the traffic, content and avg time spent on site.     If the problem is certainly a good quality backlink is a backlink from blogs or websites that have high page rank. When compared backlink dari PR1 blog with the blog as much as 6 times as much as 1 PR6 good of course still a PR6.

    like said above dont waist your time with pr. pr will come in time. Main thing is to focuse on unique quality content. I myself would reather have a pr 1 with 10k uniques all organic a day then a pr6 with 500 a day but that is me.

    I am having a hard time getting my page rank up as well... some day's you wonder am I doing this right? But it all comes in time and takes patience. Good thing we are here to help each other to stay on track and to help one another. Just continue to find high PR back links and forums/blogs.
