CB Gift Certificates For The Holidays

Since December is almost Upon us, I was thinking it might be a good idea to offer gift certificates.. To tap into possible gift sales..

I'm thinking of creating several options like $30, $50 $75 and $100 options where after people buy, they go to a thank you page with a gift certificate to print out. On this gift certificate will be a blank box where the buyer would write in the receipt number..

They can then give this gift certificate as a gift, and the person who receives the gift can redeem the products by going to a page with a form that asks for the receipt number and what products they want..

Right now, without gift certificates, people usually wouldn't consider buying digital products as gifts.. Mainly because the lack of physical presentation.. You can't give a burned CD for christmas, and an emailed present just won't do. But a gift certificate printed and put in an envelope meets standard gift requirements

Also, refunds should be low on these because the receiver will have to ask the buyer to return it, and most gift receivers have the common decency not to complain about gifts

Anyone have any ideas or feedback on such a setup? And possible pitfalls other than having to manually fulfill gift requests?
