Over optimization

My site dropped first page to 10th pages.I think it may be for over optimization.I have 1000 backlinks with one anchor text and all of them are in PR2+.

Some of my competitor have 5-10 links and have very poor content (only two or three pages)But they are now on the first or second page.

I use only one keyword. It is in the domain, title , meta tag and description.keyword is medium difficulty measured by Traffic Travis. My site is three pages site.

Am I correct? Is this site dropped for over optimization?

How can I solve the issue?

What is your recommendation to gain the previous position?
    Any help or suggestion?

you got sandboxed. You may never recover with that keyword so you might as well start over and target new keywords. This happpened to me on one of my sites last summer and it never recovered. Must.....build.....links.....slllooooowwwwwly.

I think you overdid it. If your competitors only had 10 links, why did you need to go out and get 1000?

In my humble, albeit mega experienced opinion...you have way the f-bomb over-optimized.
    1. A three page site does not provide enough content to support 1K links, no matter how fast or slow they occurred.
    2. Clearly, you were Google slapped for your silliness.
    3. Try removing about two-thirds of your backlinks (remove the ones with the lowest PR first)
    4. Wait about four days and your ranking should be improved. If it is, go ahead and remove all <4PR backlinks.
    5. Wait another week and your ranking should be back to where it was unless Google put your site in the sandbox. If your ranking doesn't improve, it's best to begin again...and begin building backlinks SLOWLY...fast backlink building is no longer workable because the search engine algorithms catch on to such schemes quite quickly now.

Sometimes a simple blog post is enough to hit and maintain a top 10 ranking, on the other hand if you prepare an elaborate plan to build 200 links to a new page, cross link it with other pertinent parts of your site, publish the page through 4 social book mark sites that will stream your content and constantly tweak the page in question, you may in fact be going too far.

Lesson learnt in my case. I should avoid doing the same from now on.

You should vary up your anchor text also. You do not want to use the same anchor text each time since that does not look natural.

No site gets 10,000 backlinks naturally with the same anchor text each time. That is an easy thing for the search engines to spot and flag.
