How to make good website?

I have completed my BE(IT) last semester and after few days compulsory to submit live project throughout a company. I have completed my live project, my friend told me that it is good but I think I have missed something in it and it is not more attractive. So any one here who tell me right and wrong thing in it and what thing I missed in it. My live project is here.

I disagree with a previous post with the site being slow. It too about one second to load for me.

My friend told me that "your slideshow moves so quickly that I can't read anything. Either slow it down a lot, or design something else to take its place." He is right or wrong because I think the speed of slideshow is normal.

 

you should make your website in Custom PHP/Mysql so it would be good..

 

yes, the slider is too fast - all I can read in one go are 4-5 words - either make it slower, or put less text with larger font in the description
would also be good to have a "pause" button on the slideshow or make it stop if I hover my mouse over it
generally, it's all right, however in my opinion, there's too much text on the home page...
