Best Wordpress theme for a site im working on?

Discussion in 'WordPress' started by mokimofiki, May 26, 2011.

Im looking for some thoughts from the community.

I just started a website for a small business (found at http://www.ticll.com/prelim) and have the preliminary layout done. Keep in mind that this is very preliminary and not even close to completion. This site is basically the wireframe of how it will be laid out.

What I am asking is if anyone knows of a good theme for this design.

Please direct any links to the actual theme or page the theme is on and not free theme sites and things of that nature. (the theme can be paid or free)

    Thank you in advance.

    Hey there,

I've seen a LOT of themes out there and to be completely honest I believe you are going to need to go with either a custom theme setup OR use one of the customizable themes such as Thesis or Genesis and integrate your current html into their system. Either way custom work is going to have to be done. I haven't seen a layout with a menu system quite like yours so it's going to need at least some custom work. For some price quotes you could check in the programming section on these forums (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=103)

Can't say anything. Yes as Civin said it will be good to purchase thesis or genesis and then design it like you want (or you can also hire a thesis designer to do that for you). Such themes also have good frame work and are well search engine optimized.

Honestly, I think there is no such theme (especially free one, that can suport such design). Without custom work you'll have to change a lot of things there.

Honestly you would be better off browsing theme forest and find a premium theme that you really enjoy. Save all your HTML in a notepad then plug it in the necessary areas. Getting it totally custom made is in my opinion much more of a hassle when you can buy some pimp themes that you can just drop your code into.

Is this a site of your own or for a client? If for yourself, I'd suggest looking into a different prebuilt layout whether free or paid to keep all functionality of Wordpress dynamic. If for a client and they are definitely wanting this design, I'd say just to make a custom theme from the default theme and work from there. Replace the default header and navigation with what you have. The links obviously will not be dynamically created, but it would work.

I'm using Thesis 1.8. Really like it. It's $79 but it's almost 100% customizeable and has skins, too. Might also look at Vigilance from Theme Foundry or Atahualpa free theme.
