I'm using Eset/NOD 32 at the moment, they were the best for a while but not sure if they still are. (but the good thing about this program is, is that it takes up almost no cpu/ram) I've heard the newer Nortons are good, but I've moved away from the brand years ago since they've gotten worse and worse since a certain year.

I can recommend using Avast Home Edition. free virus protection, an intuitive interface, and regular updates.

Currently using Norton Internet Security 2012 beta ... it's actually pretty awesome and FASTER than MSE. Very lightweight RAM usage as well. So far I am impressed.

Personally I like Eset/NOD 32 it doesn't take up much CPU room unlike some other bloated programs.

However, it sounds like you are already infected and maybe required to do a clean install of your operating system.

My suggestion is that DONOT use couple of antivirus softwares in your computer.
Use only 1 protection and my recommendation would be Kaspersky Internet Security...Though it makes the computer a bit slow but it's very effective....

Take any you can find, because for they are all similar and search for all viral programs as well. It doesn't really matter what antivirus you can use, but the virus can be invisible even for all of them.
