Wales,Edinbrough, York, Bath, Canterbury, Cambridge, Cornwall, Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespear's home) are fun I hear,If it was me i would just ask a travel agent whats the city that's the most romantic since your bringing your girlfriend.

Crawley is one of the best city in England (btw, almost every town beautiful) so if you are planning to go to West Sussex you have to visit this little city Nice people, great transport and lovely women! Sum: I definitely recommend this place - dont forget its Crawley! (y)
England is a large country, you can't realistically just go and see places it'll take you like 6 hours to drive to some places and another 6 hours back. Unless you get the train of course.
I suggest you to go to Liverpool. It's a wonderful city where there are a lot of sights and you can also attend The Beatles museum and other places to visit there.
You should try and get to Cornwall - Simply breath taking, or come to Nottingham (I live there) if you are looking for night life + Robin hood.
You can look on the internet for the best spots in Europe. Wow. I'm sure it will be exciting for the both of you.
York is a really nice place with a lot of attractions(The Cathedral,the old city walls,the Oise River etc.) and is very tourist oriented.Had a very nice weekend spent there a few months ago.
