Hi guys i used to get 300 - 400 visitors daily from search engine but now days i am only getting 30 - 40 i guess that my blog is affected by google panda ... and i am thinking of switching my blog to custom domain my question is that if i switch to custom domain will my blog get more traffic from search engine or it will remain same as now ... Thanks
If you are affected by The Google Panda it does not have anything to do with you domain name. It has a lot to do with your content. If you have alot of duplicate content or irrelevant content on your blog then you need to improve the quality of your post.
shifting site to custom domain is not the solution. Unless your site is blacklisted by google then only it make sense to shift to new domain. Else you need to work on factors that are favourable by the new Google Panda Update 1. High quality unique contents. 2. No excessive ads (5 ads on one page is treated as low quality) 3. Loading speed of your site. (faster the loading speed, better the ranking). 4. backlinks from authoritative sites. 5. age of backlinks (so bye bye to short term paid backlinks). So check the source of backlinks to your site. If they are coming from some spammy websites then your site will be penalised for that. Hope that helps...
Try and get the quality content and check for duplicate content always to solve the issue.Changing the domain name is not going to solve the problem.
thanks all for sharing this information about google panda update. My some keywords also affected by this update.
You'd better add more valuable banklinks for your site. and donot do more optimization, extensive poor backlinks and optimization may also cause punish.
Changing to custom domain is not only give you result, you need to check your content whether your content is duplicate or not.
Its better to make sure that you are having high quality unique content on every page. Reduce the number of ads especially at the top of every pages
My site has Adsence Banners and text links, Is it too many. What if site have only Adsence ads. Will google see it as add farm.
did you do some comment using your blog url to a blog already full of spamming. Beware! the blog comment neighboring pharmacy, gambling, and porn, will harm your blog
As everyone else in this thread has suggested, work on your website's content and backlinks. I think that has a much better, bigger effect that switching to a custom domain. My two cents. Have a good day!
it has nothing to do with your domain name, if you site is affected by google panda than just rewrite you content..Keep it clean and relevant, prevent keyword stuffing and you are back in game.
If you have lots of duplicate content then that might really be. You can notice that Google Panda indeed affected very rude to those sites who found having copied contents.
