Generally, I'm able to complete all these posts in 1 day. Sometimes, it may take longer, but I guarantee you a very quick delivery. I also have several options for those who are purchasing bigger "packets": 15$ x 100 HQ Posts 40$ x 300 HQ Posts 60$ x 500 HQ Posts 110$ x 1000 HQ Posts "HQ Posts" include a combination of both informative threads and posts. Here are some examples of my posts, so you can verify the quality of the information: "Capitalism + Socialism = Market Socialism" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_socialism Market socialism refers to various economic systems where the means of production are publicly owned, managed and operated for a profit in a market economy. The profit generated in a market socialist system would be used to directly remunerate employees or go toward public finance. Theoretically, the fundamental difference between a traditional socialist economy and a market socialist economy is the existence of a market for the means of production and capital goods under market socialism. A system which was used in Yugoslavia, which proposes basically, that the companies are privatized, but at the same time controlled by state, by the workers who decide what to do and when to do, and take care of all the planification. Since workers have the complete control of the company, they also earn as much money as they have worked for, and plan the compensation for efforts. Seems awesome, isn't it? It depends of your effort whether you get rich, and at the same time you work with hundreds of other people who think the same, which makes a collective hardworking production. What do you think? Code (markup): "Logic... What is it?" Fields affected: Philosophy, Science Science. Philosophy. Rational Thinking. A capacity of humans without which we couldn't live. That's how the majority defines it. But what really is logic? It is the function of the wise man to know order. - Aristotle The branch of philosophy that analyzes inference - Dictionary So which statement from those 2 is correct? Both, but at the same neither are. Logic, of course, is a funcion of the wise man to know order and a branch of philosophy, but it's not so complicated as both definitions tell it is. Logic, is the mental capacity that we use every day, when walking on the street, when talking by the phone or when writing an email. When you are at a supermarket and one brand of sugar is 3 cents per ounce, but another is 39 cents per lb. It it doesn't take long for you to pull out your calculator. You do that because you recognize that those ounces and pounds have to be put in the same catagory to be compared. That's logic. You use logic to do most everything. When you decide to take a shower after you work out instead of before, you don't necessarily go through all the formal steps it takes to reach that conclusion validly, but your decision rests on logic nonetheless. We can define logic briefly as "putting your thoughts in order", however the correct, and fairly brief definition would be: "The study and use of the principles of correct reasoning, from which we elaborate reasonable arguments" One thing you should note about this definition is that logic is concerned with the principles of correct reasoning. Studying the correct principles of reasoning is not the same as studying the psychology of reasoning. Logic is the former discipline, and it tells us how we ought to reason if we want to reason correctly. Whether people actually follow these rules of correct reasoning is an empirical matter, something that is not the concern of logic. The psychology of reasoning, on the other hand, is an empirical science. It tells us about the actual reasoning habits of people, including their mistakes. A psychologist studying reasoning might be interested in how people's ability to reason varies with age. But such empirical facts are of no concern to the logician. Logic is used in most intellectual activities, but is studied primarily in the disciplines of philosophy, mathematics, and computer science. Logic examines general forms which arguments may take, which forms are valid, and which are fallacies. It is one kind of critical thinking. In philosophy, the study of logic figures in most major areas of focus: epistemology, ethics, metaphysics. In mathematics, it is the study of valid inferences within some formal language. Let's start with some facts: Logic is a type of thinking Etimologically, Logic comes from Greek Word "Logos" which is translated as "sentence", "discourse", "reason", "rule", and "ratio" Logic has origins in several ancient civilizations, including India, China and Greece. Logic was established as a discipline by Aristotle, who gave it a fundamental place in philosophy. Logic is often divided into two parts, inductive reasoning and deductive reasoning. The first is drawing general conclusions from specific examples, the second drawing logical conclusions from definitions and axioms. A similar dichotomy, used by Aristotle, is analysis and synthesis. Here the first takes an object of study and examines its component parts. The second considers how parts can be combined to form a whole. So now that you know some basic facts, let's see the function of logic. The function of logic can be defined as "Managing the validity and correctness of an argument" Too see it better on practise, let's analyze the following arguments: Madrid is in Europe Europe is not in China Therefore, Madrid isn't in China This argument is logical, and how you see, is correct. If X=10 then Y =5 X=10 Therefore, Y=5 Another example of a logical argument, and another correct one. Jill: Bill, Tomorrow I'm going to introduce you my American friend. James: Bill, that American friend must be fat, since all Americans I know are fat.And I know many Americans Bill thinks: All James' friends are Americans, and all of them are fat. Therefore, all Americans are fat. Jill's friend is American, therefore Jill's friend is fat. This argument, however, is incorrect, and even throught it seems illogical, it isn't. There are many logical fallacies in this argument. More on this here. Types of logical reasoning: Deductive and inductive reasoning Deductive reasoning concerns what follows necessarily from given premises (if a, then b). However, inductive reasoning—the process of deriving a reliable generalization from observations—has sometimes been included in the study of logic. Correspondingly, we must distinguish between deductive validity and inductive validity (called "cogency"). An inference is deductively valid if and only if there is no possible situation in which all the premises are true but the conclusion false. An inductive argument can be neither valid nor invalid; its premises give only some degree of probability, but not certainty, to its conclusion. The notion of deductive validity can be rigorously stated for systems of formal logic in terms of the well-understood notions of semantics. Inductive validity on the other hand requires us to define a reliable generalization of some set of observations. The task of providing this definition may be approached in various ways, some less formal than others; some of these definitions may use mathematical models of probability. For the most part this discussion of logic deals only with deductive logic. Types or topics in logic: Syllogistic logic Propositional logic (aka sentential logic) Predicate logic Modal logic Informal reasoning Mathematical logic Philosophical logic Logic and computation During the next weeks, I will be publishing articles on this blog explaining all thsoe types of reasoning, as well as logical fallacies (Explained below.) Logical rules There aren't many logical rules, however, the main and the commonly unfullfilled one is for logical arguments to be logical. You're probably saying: Well, that's common sense! Yeah, that's right, but many people aren't doing that, it's more, I'm sure that you aren't doing that! People are constantly claiming illogical arguments to be logical, involuntarily! One thing is for an argument to be logical, and another one to seem. These arguments that seems logical but aren't are mostly logical fallacies. An example of logical fallacy. You may use them, and you may even win thanks to them, but if a person spots them, then he will not only point out your ignorance, but he'll also prove everybody that "you're fool", and you won't be able to defend yourself without using other fallacies, which will make the situation even worse. So, you're probably asking, how can you prevent this from happening? It's easy! People have proven many illogical arguments to be illogical a long time ago, and have them all explained already. You can see the most common ones here: http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/. Conclusion: Logic is a capacity that we use everyday, and that is needed for our survival. However, it is commonly misused by people covering illogical arguments with logic. An intelligent person can easily spot them, and not only see, but also show the ignorance of those arguments to other people. So my advice is, be the intelligent person, and not the ignorant.
